Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola knows Raheem Sterling faces a gauntlet of jeers at Liverpool tomorrow.

Sterling will return to Anfield in the form of his career.

Guardiola revealed he expects Sterling to deal with any incessant jeering at his former club.

"It's because he was important for Liverpool - he was loved by the fans, I understand," Guardiola said. "I think he is more mature (now).

"He has to go and play."
