Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has paid tribute to David Silva after his retirement announcement.
The Real Sociedad midfielder, 37, has been forced into retirement after suffering an ACL injury in training last week.
Guardiola said: "Silva's retirement is certainly bad news.
"He has had an incredible impact not only at Manchester City. But in every team he played for, Valencia, Eibar and the national team.
"He was the best I've ever seen playing in the inside role. He was one of those players who led teams to success. I wish him all the best."
