Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has considered bidding for Newcastle United striker Michael Owen.
The Guardian says Eriksson has £30 million to spend in January and wants to make three big signings. The Swede has given serious consideration to the potential availability of Owen at Newcastle United and Peter Crouch of Liverpool but neither name is present on a list he has presented to City's owner, Thaksin Shinawatra.
