Man City attacker Sterling proud to launch his foundation

Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling has launched his foundation at home in London.

Sterling was back at Ark Elvin Academy, his former school in Brent, to help officially launch the Foundation.

The Raheem Sterling Foundation aims to help educate, empower and inspire young people to become better prepared for the future and to embrace opportunities to achieve greater social mobility with its work set to help youngsters in Manchester, London and Jamaica.

“Yeah, I feel the football side that's my pride and joy and my every day," Sterling told mancity.com.

“But I get the most joy in doing stuff like this.

“If it means that I can hopefully help one individual to - if you like - inspire them and give them the motivation (to achieve)… that gives me the most joy.

“I'm very proud to know I've actually achieved what I have in football.

“But at the same time (I'm also) trying to be in touch with the reality of what's going on in everyday society."
