Man City agree Borussia Dortmund friendly

Manchester City are to face Borussia Dortmund in Germany on August 4 as part of their pre-season campaign.

The Citizens will contest the Ferrostaal Cup against Dortmund, who finished fifth in the Bundesliga last season to earn a berth in the Europa League, in which City will also play.

The match will come on the back of City's five-match tour of the United States.

"I would like to thank Ferrostaal and Borussia Dortmund for inviting us to take part in this game. We have a very exciting pre-season schedule planned and this game is one of our last before the start of the Premier League campaign," manager Roberto Mancini told the club's official website.

"Coming just after the end of our tour of America, this trip will get the players ready for the type of schedule we will face this season, with short visits to Europe for Europa League games.

"German football is traditionally strong, as shown by Bayern's appearance in the Champions League final, and I think Borussia Dortmund provide the perfect challenge for our final away pre-season game of 2010."
