Man City ace De Bruyne matches records of Prem legends Lampard, Henry

Manchester City ace Kevin De Bruyne has matched Chelsea boss Frank Lampard at the height of his playing career.

De Bruyne became the first central midfielder to exceed 30 goal involvements in a season since Lampard ten years ago, reports the Mirror.

City secured second place and could yet add the Champions League to their Carabao Cup triumph.

But they will need De Bruyne to continue his top form after he registered his 20th assist of the season against Norwich.

He also bagged a brace, taking his tally to 13 for the year meaning he has contributed towards 33 of City's 102 goals.

It is slightly short of Lampard's tally that he registered in Chelsea's double winning campaign under Carlo Ancelotti.

The prolific midfielder scored 22 times and put up 14 assists to just edge out the Belgian.

De Bruyne though equalled a Premier League record with his final assist of the season.

Thierry Henry's total of 20 assists in the 2002/03 season has long stood.
