Man City ace De Bruyne, Chelsea star Hazard given free reign by Belgium boss

Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard have basically been given a license to roam free for Belgium.

Rode Duivels boss Marc Wilmots was responding to criticism of his decision to move Manchester City's De Bruyne from a central position to the right side of attack during their 3-2 victory over Norway last weekend.

Wilmots defended the move, suggesting that De Bruyne does his best work on the right wing, while indicating that Chelsea star and Belgium captain Hazard will be granted the liberty to do as he pleases when

Euro2016 kicks off against Italy in Lyon on Monday.

"De Bruyne played a good second half on the right side against Norway," said Wilmots.

"Depth, speed, diagonal passes, more space, one against one actions…

"How many assists he has already passed from the right? I do not know why we are so talking about the position of Kevin.

"For the team you should be able to play anywhere. That will do Kevin."

In reference to the come-from-behind win against the Norwegians, Wilmots added: "De Bruyne went to play on the right.

"It is true that Eden also came to play central. He took his responsibilities at 1-2 (when scoring the equaliser).

"Hazard will not always play central.

"The intention is that this happens more, we have to surprise their opponents so they get a different type of player before him again."
