Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry hopes England hasn't seen the last of David Beckham.
Fabio Capello appeared to call time on LA Galaxy star Beckham's 115-cap international career before Wednesday evening's friendly victory over Hungary, saying the 35-year-old was "too old" to be considered for selection.
Barry hopes Beckham adds to his caps - the most by an outfield player for England.
He said of Capello's decision: "I'm not sure what David's feelings towards that is.
"Hopefully, that won't be the end.
"He'll keep fighting. I know he'll probably want to."
He added: "Everyone knows what an icon and a legend he is."
