Malmo FF chief Niclas Carlnen admits they held talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic about buying into the club before he became a part-owner in Hammarby.

Carlnen says they spoke with the AC Milan striker back in 2019 about an investment.

"There were so many trips there and back with moving to the US and home again. There were discussions about it, but never timed," Carlnen told the Lundh podcast.

But after Ibrahimovic's decision to buy into Hammarby, MFF's CEO has not had contact with the Milan star.

"I have not talked to him for a very long time. He has a relationship with employees in the association, but no one like me has that with him."
