Alberto Malesani is delighted to be appointed new coach of Bologna.

Malesani replaces Franco Colomba who was fired a day before Bologna's season opener against Inter.

Speaking at his official unveiling, Malesani said: "I feel a strong motivation inside of me, a tremendous desire to get on the pitch and put my stamp on Bologna."

When asked to reveal his objectives for this season, he replied: "Survival with minimum suffering.

"Colomba was the architect of Bologna's great survival last year.

"But when there isn't an affinity with the club it's right that you go your separate ways."
