Maldera forced to step up at Brighton in De Zerbi absence

Brighton assistant coach Andrea Maldera is in charge of the team in the coming days.

Maldera is the one who will take the pre-game press conference and handle all post-game media duties against Tottenham.

He is filling in for head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who is having “very invasive dental surgery."

Brighton issued the news this week, ensuring fans were kept informed about the state of the team.

Maldera will be in charge all game, as De Zerbi has been told that he must rest.

Whether the Italian will speak with his assistant on the phone during the game is unclear.
