Mainz chief Schroder delighted as Klopp talks up hometown return

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he'd like to return to former club Mainz later in his career.

Klopp visited his old club and former staff during the international break.

"Mainz is my home and at some point will be my home again. When I fly out from Liverpool, I'll come back," said Klopp.

Mainz chief Rouven Schroder says they're pleased with Klopp's comments.

"Jürgen is a world coach and will have many successful years in Liverpool and win titles. There is no doubt about that. But if he really should be back in Mainz someday and would like to play a role with us - then it is clear that we are ready to talk.

"For him, the door is always open."
