Mainz chief Rouven Schroder admits there's huge interest for Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The striker is interesting Southampton and Tottenham, amongst clubs from across Europe.

Schroder told Sport1: "The fact is that many top clubs are interested in him and the demand for him will not decrease despite corona."

However, Schroder emphasised that he "absolutely wanted to keep" Mateta.

The attacker is linked with Mainz to 2023.
