Mahrez declares he wants Man City stay: I love the club. I love the city

Manchester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez has declared he wants to stay.

Mahrez has a deal to 2022 with City.

He said today: "I am very good here. I love the club. I love the city. We will try and win things and then see."

City meet PSG in the first-leg of their Champions League semifinal tomorrow night.

Mahrez continued: "Our team everyone is a top player, we don't have big stars like Messi or Ronaldo, but we have players performing at a really top level all over the pitch.

"As a boy, you dream about games like this and now we have to step up. This is the biggest game of my career so far, but are aim is not to reach the semi-finals, but to try and do more."

On his new role, the Algerian added: "I have played there a couple of times. You have to drop in the middle and make a superiority in midfield. I am not a striker like Sergio Aguero or Gabriel Jesus, my qualities are different, but I try to do things for the team."

"It is all about the confidence. I am confident and happy and that makes it easier to perform."
