Georginio Wijnaldum admits he is already loving life as a Newcastle United player.
The 24-year-old Dutch midfielder signed with the Magpies from Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven for £14.5million on July 11 and has already received plenty of praise from fans following the 1-0 pre-season friendly win over Sacramento Republic on Saturday.
Of his Newcastle initiation, Wijnaldum spoke of his delight at quickly adapting to his new environment and is eagerly anticipating his debut at the famed St James' Park.
He told the Chronicle: "It's something I like.
"The fans are really true fans here – they love the club.
"People have already told me that Newcastle is a club that have fantastic fans and we will see it when we play home games at St James' Park.
"I am waiting for that."
"These are beautiful times for me and I enjoy them right now," he added.
"You can only enjoy it once because you will only be the new boy once.
"The trainer and the players have helped me a lot to feel comfortable in the team and to do my thing."
