Reading chairman John Madejski feels this season will dictate whether Reading press ahead with plans to increase the stadium capacity to 38,000.

He added: "We've got permission now to take it from 24-25,000 up to 38,000.

"This season will be crucial to us and whether we press that green button or not.

"We hope to press that button at the beginning of next year, with a view to taking us up to a greater size. It's not going to happen overnight, it will happen in stages over two or three seasons."
