Madaschi's own goal drops game for Portogruaro

Former Australian Youth international and Dundee FC player Adrian Madaschi scored an own goal as his newly-promoted Portogruaro Summaga went down to promotion favourite Torino 2-1 in their Serie B clash on Saturday.

Madaschi, the forgotten man of Australian football, has been playing in the lower leagues in Italy until making it to the second division with Portogruaro.

The 28-year old centre-half had a few seasons in the Scottish Premier League with Partick Thistle and Dundee FC before returning back to Italy.

Madaschi was a member of Australian Under 17 team that were runners-up to Brazil in 1999. He looked to have a bright future but the towering centre-back has never been able to win a long term place in the plans of successive Socceroo coaches.
