Maccabi Haifa land Bolton midfielder Cohen

Maccabi Haifa have signed released Bolton Wanderers midfielder Tamir Cohen to a four-year deal.

The Israeli faced a testing time last season when his father, former Liverpool player Avi Cohen, died following a motorcycle accident in December 2010.

Cohen dedicated a goal he later scored for the club by taking off his shirt to reveal a picture of his father after scoring the winner in the 2-1 victory over Arsenal that April.

Cohen said: "I am pleased to join Maccabi Haifa and hopefully I can help the club in the challenges ahead."
