Lyon striker Moussa Dembele aware Man Utd keen

Manchester United have expressed interest in Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.

The Manchester Evening News says United have made initial enquiries about signing Dembele in the summer transfer window. It comes after Ralf Rangnick advised United to look at signing a younger striker at the end of the season.

There is some interest from United over a possible deal, although the 25-year-old is just one of a number of players currently being looked at.

A source close to the Lyon player reiterated that Dembele would only be viewed as a squad player if he were to move to United this summer and that he'd likely be viewed as a replacement for the departing Edinson Cavani, rather than as a regular starter.

Those close to the French forward were also keen to point out that Dembele is in no rush to leave Lyon, where he is vice captain, though he will soon be entering the final year of his contract at the club. It has been reiterated that the forward will consider any opportunities which could come his way, though there is great emphasis on the overall project of any club he looks to join.
