Lyon striker Fred has hit back at Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.

Redknapp claimed Fred did not show up at a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the move.

But Fred's agent and brother Rodrigo claims it was Redknapp who stood them up in France last weekend. He said: "What Redknapp said is a lie, Fred never said he would come to a meeting.

"Redknapp said he would come to see us in France on Sunday but he did not come.

"Then everything changed, they suddenly wanted us to come to London on Monday. But here they would pressure him.

"He wanted to come to Tottenham but they let us down so he will not be joining them. It's as simple as that."
