Lyon defender Bakary Kone is a target for both Newcastle United and Cardiff City according to reports.

The 25-year old Burkina Faso international is wanted by the Toon who are also set to make a move for his club teammate Bafetimbi Gomis.

Premier League new boys Cardiff have also been credited with an interest in Kone who arrived at Stade de Gerland from Guingamp in 2011.
