Olympique Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas admits making an attempt for Tottenham striker Clinton Njie.

However, he accepts the former OL ace is set to join Olympique Marseille.

"We became interested in Njie. I think my friend (Daniel) Levy, chairman of Tottenham, had no desire to loan him to Marseille," said Aulas.

"But I think Njie, had no desire to return to Lyon because he knows what may be waiting in Marseille.

"We saw last season, this is a sensitive boy, it's hard to settle in a club you do not know."
