Olympique Lyon coach Bruno Genesio was pleased with Memphis Depay's debut for victory over Marseille.

The former Manchester United winger entered the fray on 79 minutes.

"I found him very well. He confirmed that we had made the right choice, that he was a player who completely entered the game philosophy that we wanted to put in place," said Genesio.

"What will he bring us? The explosiveness, his speed, his technical quality, his ability to win one against one, to be a dribbler ... A lot of things. This now allows us to have six strikers of high level."

Lyon teammate Anthony Lopes added: "I found him very comfortable . We know he's a great player. He will still have to find understanding with his teammates, but that's a good sign."
