Lyngby BK coach Freyr Alexandersson has confirmed talks with Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The former Everton and Tottenham midfielder is weighing up a playing return this season.

"If Gylfi Sigurdsson comes here, he would lift many things - no doubt about that. But it's not close right now. I can only say that I know Gylfi well, and he knows Alfred (Finnbogason, striker in Lyngby) well," said Alexandersson to Discovery+.

"We have talked, and maybe he will come and train with us.

"Then we'll take it from there."
