Lyngby chief Kjeldsen admits agreement close with Sigurdsson

Lyngby football chief Nicas Kjeldsen says they're in talks to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The former Everton and Swansea City midfielder, 33, is ready to return to football.

"We think it looks promising. It is clear that a contract is missing, but we hope it can be successful," said Kjeldsen.

According to the Lyngby chief, the salary did not figure very much in the negotiations.

"It hasn't filled very much. It has not been part of the negotiations at all. The money doesn't drive him at all. If it succeeds, it is to get the career on the right track and show the world that he is still a good player.

Sigurdsson was eventually cleared of a sexual case in the UK, which saw him cast aside by Everton.

Kjeldsen added, "It's about where you are as a person when you've been through it. We have had many talks about this, but we feel that he is a man on a mission."
