Luton captain Lockyer forced out of Wales squad

Luton skipper Tom Lockyer will not get a chance to represent his country this month.

The 28-year-old, who has started three Premier League games in a row for Luton this term, has a thigh injury.

Lockyer has been forced to withdraw from the Wales squad for their upcoming matches.

A statement on the club's official website read: “Captain Tom Lockyer, who was selected by Rob Page for the Wales squad last week, has been forced to withdraw from the camp.

“The skipper missed his first game of the season on Friday night when the Hatters hosted West Ham United due to a thigh injury."

Lockyer is still waiting for his first Wales cap in over two years, with most of his absences injury related.
