Luke Young says he joined Aston Villa to win trophies.

Young was dropped for their 0-0 draw with Portsmouth, but said: "I picked up the League Cup in my first season at Spurs. I played a couple of rounds and then I was sub at Wembley.

"Did it feel like I'd won something? Not really, no.

"I've got the trophy at home, don't get me wrong I wouldn't give it away, but it doesn't really feel like you've earned it when you don't play in the final.

"In some ways it's because you get a taste of what it's like but you don't quite feel a part of it.

"If I'd known at the time I'd go 10 years without winning something I might have appreciated it more!"
