Liverpool midfielder Lucas has urged his teammates to keep improving ahead of Saturday's crucial clash with Manchester United.

The Reds will come into the match off the back of a humiliating 3-0 home defeat against West Ham United and the Brazilian wants his teammates to put in a much improved effort against their arch rivals at Old Trafford.

Of the encounter with Man Utd, Lucas told Sky Sports: "It's a big game.

"We know how excited the fans are for this and both teams are at the same situation - same points, a lot of new signings and a new team. Hopefully we can keep improving."
