Loris Karius is set to leave Newcastle United.

The Northern Echo says Martin Dubravka's return to Newcastle is bad news for Karius, who now looks unlikely to earn an extension to the short-term deal he penned earlier this year.

The former Liverpool shot-stopper is due to be a free agent in January and an extension is unlikely after Dubravka's loan spell at Manchester United was cut short.

For his part, Karius has made it clear he'd like to stay on Tyneside.
