Julen Lopetegui urged Sevilla fans to stay calm as they sit top of the table.
Sevilla lead the LaLiga Santander after a 1-0 win away at Alaves on Sunday.
"Being top does not tell me anything because there's such a long way to go," Lopetegui said
"The only thing it tells me is that the team is doing well, that we are getting stronger as a team and now we are heading into Europe."
A first-half goal from Joan Jordan was enough to give Sevilla their third win out of four matches and Lopetegui was pleased with his side's display.
"We played a good game and a very good first half against a difficult opponent who make things very challenging.
"The team did very well with the aspects we had worked on.
"In the second half, it was tougher. They played more direct and perhaps we needed to interpret the situation and not back down. It was a deserved and fair victory," he added.
