Lokomotiv Moscow chief Ralf Rangnick is a target for Manchester United.
The Manchester Evening News says United have shortlisted Rangnick to take over as interim manager.
United have had their initial approach for Mauricio Pochettino rejected by Paris Saint-Germain but remain confident of appointing the Argentinian as their next permanent manager.
Amid the possibility of PSG keeping Pochettino, United have started conducting interviews for an interim manager's role and have already held discussions with the former Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde and former Roma coach Rudi Garcia.
Rangnick is believed to be United's preferred option to manage the club for the rest of the season if they cannot prise Pochettino from PSG.
