Fabio Borini is desperate to prove to the wider football community that he still has what it take to make it at the top.
The 22-year old injury-prone Italian striker is on a season-long loan with Sunderland, after being sent out by Liverpool on deadline day, and is looking to get himself back to top form with regular action for the Black Cats.
"My first thought is to have a clear season with nothing major happening (injury-wise)," he told the Evening Chronicle.
"I've always proved myself in the short-term. I would like at least six or seven months without getting injured, which would mean all season.
"Last season was tough, mostly because of the injuries, not the move. Big-money moves happen in football.
"So do injuries, but they take you down, especially when all you want is to do well for a new team. Basically, your body pulls you out."
