LOAN WATCH: Chelsea, Southampton, Swansea loanees feature as Blackburn down Rotherham

It was loanees galore at Ewood Park on Saturday as Blackburn Rovers picked up their first win of the season with a 4-2 result over Rotherham United.

Swansea City's Marvin Emnes and Southampton's Sam Gallagher were in top form for Blackburn with Watford defender Tommie Hoban playing a full 90 and West Ham United attacking midfielder Martin Samuelsen coming on late.

Chelsea's Izzy Brown helped kick things off for Rotherham with a splendid through ball for Danny Ward to slot home after 12 minutes before Blackburn took control of proceedings.

Craig Conway and Corry Evans combined for their 22nd-minute equaliser, seven minutes before goalscorer Conway turned provider with a cut-back pass for Emnes to expertly finish.

In the opening minute of the second half, Emnes teed up Ben Marshall who produced a beautiful left-footed curler to make it 3-1 prior to Ward's second for the Millers in the 83rd minute.

But Gallagher wrapped it up in injury time when he simply tapped home his third league goal of the season after being unselfishly set up by Emnes.

Rovers boss Owen Coyle spoke glowingly of loan pair Emnes and Gallagher after the game.

He told Radio Rovers: "I thought Emnes and Gallagher were outstanding.

"They really showed their quality, the two of them together were terrific.

“They gave us pace, they gave us strength, and today they gave us goals.

"I thought it was a wonderful team performance and the strikers were pivotal to how we played and long may that continue."

On the other side of the coin, Brown was clearly frustrated with the result:

While Gallagher was buzzing to have contributed to a season-first win for Rovers:
