Livorno are paying £4 million to land Valencia striker Ciccio Tavano.

"He is the ideal foil for Cristiano Lucarelli," said Livorno president Aldo Spinelli last night. "The deal is 99 per cent done. He just needs to undergo his medical and sign his contract.

"Everything will be closed once he returns from his summer holidays."
