Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing is desperate to make the starting line-up for the FA Cup final.

The 23-year-old ­midfielder admits he will be distraught if he is left out of the FA Cup Final side.

"I never take anything for granted - you never can at Liverpool," said the lad born in Birkenhead. "But if I am honest, I would be gutted if I didn't make the team for Wembley.

"Anyone who has played in the rounds leading to the final would be devastated if they missed out.

"I've dreamed of playing at Wembley and winning trophies for Liverpool for as long as I can remember."
