Liverpool's Mignolet: I held talks with defence after Arsenal defeat

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has revealed he had a heart-to-heart with his defenders on Saturday afternoon.

The Belgian has a bad day in the office during the 4-1 defeat to Arsenal and has opened up about talks with his defence on the way back from the Emirates Stadium.

"You always look for certain things you can do better and what went wrong," he told liverpoolfc.com.

"I always speak to the defence and on the way back from Arsenal we talked through a couple of things. You always look for what you can do better when the next game comes around.

"Your own individual performance always comes second best and you don't really want to think about that too much because it's about winning games and making sure, together with the team, you're getting the performance that you want.

"Afterwards, you'll analyse your own game to see what was good and what can be done better. The goalkeeping coach, the gaffer and the fans asked me to be commanding and demanding."

The defeat against Arsenal almost extinguished Liverpool's hopes for a top-four spot as the club now lies seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with seven games left in the season.
