Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano has urged Argentina teammate Sergio Aguero to join him in England.

The Atletico Madrid striker is a £35 million target for Manchester City and Mascherano said: "I think playing for a big club in England would help him and he is certainly good enough to do it.

"Lionel Messi is maybe one step ahead of him at the moment but he is still a fantastic player.

"He is strong and a good finisher and he has a very good technique."
