Adam Hammill has joined Barnsley on loan until the end of the season. The 21-year-old Liverpool winger said: "I had the chance to go on loan to Sheffield United, Blackpool and Leeds but, after discussing it with Liverpool and my agent, it was decided that I should join Simon Davey at Barnsley.

"I hope that the fans at Oakwell will give an out-and-out Scouser top support because I'm really up for helping Barnsley win some games.

"I'm used to fighting for a Red cause."
