Liverpool are ready to compete with Manchester United and Chelsea for Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso.
Xabi comes off contract in June and Real chiefs are all but resigned to losing the midfielder in 2014.
The Daily Star says Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all fighting for Xabi's signature.
Real coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "The club has no further information regarding his renewal.
"But if he signs or not, he is our player until the summer of 2014 and if he is available, he will play."
