Liverpool U23 boss Critchley pushing Wilson for loan spell

20-year-old Liverpool starlet Harry Wilson has outgrown the Premier League 2 competition, says Reds U23 boss Neil Critchley.

Wilson, Wales' youngest debutante, has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month Award for September.

But Critchley says he will have to leave Liverpool on loan to continue his development.

"I think at some point he will go into a senior environment and play games when he is going to get tested both physically and mentally," Critchley admitted.

"He's going to have to do that [in games] twice a week to see if he can cope with the demands of men's football.

"I'm sure if Harry keeps playing well for us between now and January then maybe he will have some more options then."

Wilson has made only one competitive appearance for the Reds – in last season's FA Cup.

Celtic were amongst a host of clubs who were interested in taking Wilson on loan.
