Newcastle United face a battle to keep hold of young midfielder Olivier Kemen.

The French youngster is rated highly inside Newcastle and trained with John Carver's first team towards the end of last season.

However, L'Equipe says new Toon manager Steve McClaren risks losing Kemen to bigger Premier League suitors.

Tottenham and Liverpool are willing to bid for the teen, who impressed with Newcastle's U21 team last term.

Newcastle signed Kemen, 18, two years ago from Metz.
