Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is desperate for Wigan Athletic to upset Premiership leaders Manchester United tonight.

Reds skipper Gerro said: "It's difficult to watch when they are playing so well and winning games.

"But it's important for us to keep that pressure on by winning. I'll watch the Wigan game as we want to win the league.

"United are in the box seat - but it's still on.

"I'm going to hope and keep my fingers crossed that United slip up."
