Liverpool were again represented at Hoffenheim's clash with Mainz on Saturday.

BILD says Liverpool scouts were joined by talent spotters from AC Milan, Inter Milan and Schalke to see Hoffenheim striker Roberto Firmino in action.

The Brazilian, who has less than 15 months to run on his current deal, is also being linked with Manchester United.

Hoffenheim coach Markus Gisdol was asked about the presence of overseas scouts and said: "Of course we know the mechanisms of the market, but players who have proven themselves and fit well into our system, we basically want to keep here."
