Liverpool's Rodgers agrees with Chelsea's Mourinho: Title is Man City's to lose

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says he concurs with Jose Mourinho that Manchester City have the monopoly on this season's Premier League title.

The Chelsea boss said recently that Manuel Pellegrini's men have the premiership in their hands and that it is theirs to lose.

Mourinho's comments came despite the fact that his Chelsea are nine points ahead of City although the 2012 champions have three games in hand.

Some may suggest that Mourinho is trying to start his customary mind games as the season run-in begins and although Rodgers is not about to get involved, he does agree with the Portuguese.

"I have learnt a lot from Jose. He is a great man and we remain close, but we are two different people. I have never made a big push publicly about us winning the title," Rodgers said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breafkast show on talkSPORT.

"It is not about playing down expectations or mind games, it is just about taking a humble approach to the season and how we have worked and because the players are doing all the talking on the field.

"He [Mourinho] is right in saying Manchester City are the club that has the power, in terms of squad. They have three games in hand. Win them and they go the top. And they will expect to win them."
