Liverpool's Hodgson delighted with N'Gog performance

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson was delighted with the performance of French striker David N'Gog in Thursday's 2-0 win over FK Rabotnicki in Skopje.

The 21-year old netted both goals as the Reds edged the past the Macedonians in their early Europa League outing and Hodgson moved quickly to distance himself from ever trying to offload N'Gog.

"I can't stop players being linked with other clubs, but I never discussed him leaving Liverpool," he said.

"I have been very impressed with him. I think Ngog has worked very hard in training and done very well in the pre-season games, and he crowned his hard work with an impressive performance.

"The goals will be a big weight off him mind, and give him confidence. Front players need goals, and he has got them, which means he can relax. He has shown us that he has the movement and touch, and quality, and I'm pleased for him."
