Liverpool veteran Jamie Carragher will make it in the management caper according to his former manager Gerard Houllier.
The Aston Villa boss is adamant that the English defender has the right attributes to be a successful coach at the top level.
"I think he'll make a great manager, but I hope he goes through the different steps first," Houllier said.
"It's two separate jobs. When you're a player you look after yourself and your career, when you're manager you look after the team and the club. It's two different views on things.
"Jamie thinks football all the time. He's always trying to find out the best option, the best solution.
"He's team-orientated in his approach so I think he'll make a very good manager. All he needs is to train for that, to develop and make sure he goes through the different steps."
