Liverpool have received a boost ahead of Wednesday's Champions League group stage opener against Napoli.

Thiago Alcantara was put through his paces in training on Monday and looks set to be available for the trip to Italy.

The 31-year-old has not played since suffering a hamstring strain in the clash at promoted Fulham on August 6.

Jurgen Klopp will be delighted to have Thiago available after Jordan Henderson joined Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the sidelines.

Fabio Carvalho is also a doubt for Liverpool after suffering a dead leg in Saturday's goalless draw with Everton.
