Liverpool ready to push through move for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Cakir

Liverpool are ready to push through a move for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.

The Daily Express says the Reds sent scouts to watch Cakir line up against Erling Haaland's Norway in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday but instead of firming up their interest in the red-hot striker, they left more impressed with the Trabzonspor stopper.

After keeping the 20-year-old scoring sensation at bay with an impressive display between the sticks, Sabah Sport indicate Liverpool are now lining up a £14.5m summer bid for Cakir.

Liverpool are reported to have been monitoring 24-year-old for some time as they looks to find a suitable back-up to No 1 Alisson Becker.

Cakir has 10 clean sheets for his club this season, and that form continued for his country as he finished the game without being beaten.

The report in the Express revealed Chelsea had shown interest in the stopper in the summer, but opted for Edouard Mendy instead.

It was not only Liverpool who were present for the World Cup Qualifier, with RB Leipzig and Sevilla also travelling to Malaga for the Group G match.
