Liverpool pushing Loris Karius to accept free transfer

Liverpool want to give Loris Karius a free transfer in January.

The Mirror says Liverpool are hoping to cut their losses on Loris Karius by letting the struggling goalkeeper leave for free in January.

The German is out of contract at the end of the season, but will be allowed to depart for nothing in the next transfer window as he bids to resurrect his career.

Karius, 28, has not featured in a competitive game for Liverpool since his calamitous showing in the 2018 Champions League final.

He should have been sent out again this term, but would not sacrifice a large chunk of his salary in order to force through a move to FC Basel.
