Liverpool have made a last-ditch bid to hijack Tottenham's move for Leeds youngster Danny Rose.

The Mirror says Reds boss Rafa Benitez stepped into the hunt last night and expects to speak to 17-year-old attacker Rose today in a bid to persuade him into switching to Anfield.

Spurs expected to clinch the deal yesterday before Liverpool made their play. Now Rose will talk to Benitez before deciding on his future.
